Urban kite spot on the corner of Ocean Park, San Juan's most popular metro launch (locally 'Puntas'), at the end of Park Boulevard. Works on the easterly trades: best with E to ENE wind, which blows roughly side-shore here. Two reliable seasons — December to April delivers the strongest, most consistent 'Christmas Winds' (Vientos Alisios) at 15–25 kt, and June to September brings steady trade/thermal flow that's lighter but very dependable and gives the flattest water. Spring and fall are the gappiest months. Note that buildings and trees behind the beach throw a wind shadow and make the launch gusty/turbulent right at the sand, so an assisted launch is strongly recommended; once you're off the beach the wind cleans up. Water state: a protected inside lagoon that's flat to light chop in summer (great for freeride, freestyle and progression) and choppier in winter. About half a mile offshore a ~4-mile reef sets up multiple wave breaks — 'Dominoes' directly out front is very shallow and for experts only, while 'Sunset' to the west is a deep-water peeling right that holds the biggest swells but sits far downwind. Skill level: the flat inside suits beginner-to-intermediate riders and freestyle; the reef breaks are advanced-only due to shallow coral and current. Hazards: shallow reef/coral, ocean current outside the protection, the building-induced wind shadow and gusts onshore, and a busy urban beach shared with swimmers, surfers and SUPs (stay clear, self-rescue room is limited near the reef). Parking is beachfront with a grassy rigging area and a sandy beach. Good base spot if you're touring PR; downwind reef breaks reward strong riders, flat inside keeps everyone else happy.
