1. Information We Collect

We collect very little personal data. Specifically:

• Email address — provided when you create an account, submit a spot, or use the contact form.
• Name — optionally provided through the contact form or spot submissions.
• Messages — the content you submit through our contact form.
• Usage data — pages visited, referring site, browser type, device type, and approximate location (country/region level). This is collected automatically through analytics (see Section 4).

We do not collect payment information, phone numbers, or physical addresses.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To operate and maintain your account.
• To respond to messages sent through the contact form.
• To display your spot submissions and contributor attribution (if provided).
• To understand how the site is used and improve the experience.
• To protect the site from abuse and spam.

We do not use your data for advertising or profiling.

3. Cookies

Kite Corner uses the following types of cookies:

• Essential cookies — required for authentication, session management, and cookie consent preferences. These cannot be disabled.
• Analytics cookies — set by Cloudflare Web Analytics and/or Google Analytics to measure traffic and understand usage patterns. These cookies collect anonymous, aggregated data.

You can control non-essential cookies through the consent banner shown on your first visit. You may also manage cookies through your browser settings at any time.

4. Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics and may use Google Analytics to understand site traffic and user behavior. These services may collect your IP address, browser information, and browsing activity. Google Analytics data is processed according to Google's Privacy Policy. Cloudflare Web Analytics is privacy-focused and does not use client-side state or track individuals.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only with service providers necessary to operate Kite Corner:

• Cloudflare — hosting, CDN, DNS, analytics, and bot protection.
• Resend — transactional email delivery.
• Google — analytics (if enabled).

These providers process data on our behalf and are contractually obligated to protect it.

6. Data Retention

We retain your email address and account data for as long as your account is active. Contact form messages are retained for up to 12 months. Analytics data is retained according to the default retention policies of the analytics provider. You may request deletion at any time (see Section 8).

7. International Visitors & GDPR

Kite Corner serves visitors worldwide, including the European Union. If you are located in the EU/EEA, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Rectification — request correction of inaccurate data.
• Erasure — request deletion of your personal data.
• Restriction — request that we limit processing of your data.
• Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format.
• Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests.

Our legal basis for processing your data is: (a) your consent (cookies, contact form), (b) performance of a contract (account services), and (c) legitimate interest (analytics, security).

8. Data Deletion Requests

You may request deletion of your account and all associated personal data at any time by emailing support@kitecorner.com or using our contact form. We will process your request within 30 days.

9. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure hosting infrastructure (Cloudflare), and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children's Privacy

Kite Corner is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of Kite Corner after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
