About This Spot
Barker’s Beach, located in Barker’s National Park on the northwest tip of Grand Cayman, is a secluded and spacious kiteboarding spot known for its consistent trade winds, shallow reef-protected lagoon, and uncrowded natural setting. It offers clean cross-onshore wind and large areas of flat, waist-deep water, making it ideal for both beginners learning and experienced riders looking to progress. The beach itself is quiet and undeveloped—with no real infrastructure, limited launch areas, and some rocky or coral sections—so it feels raw and untouched compared to Seven Mile Beach. On a good day, you get steady wind, warm turquoise water, and plenty of space, making it widely considered the top kite spot on the island despite requiring a bit of effort to access.
