Quiet artisanal-fishing village on Ceará's 'Costa do Sol Nascente,' ~120 km SE of Fortaleza in Beberibe (Paripueira district). It sits inside a federal Marine Extractive Reserve (RESEX Marinha, est. 2009) — community-managed, with large construction and mass tourism deliberately limited, so it stays low-key and uncrowded versus Cumbuco/Preá. Wind: classic NE-Brazil trade pattern — light/variable Jan–Jun, strong and reliable Jul–Dec, peaking Aug–Nov. On good peak-season afternoons expect side- to side-onshore E/SE trades around 18–26 kn (mornings lighter; afternoon build). Not offshore — safe wind direction. Water: this is an OPEN Atlantic beach (~5 km of sand), NOT a lagoon. Conditions are chop with sandbar-driven waves and a noticeable longshore current; large tidal range (~2.5–3 m) exposes banks and tidal pools at low tide and shifts the usable beach/shorebreak through the day. Suits intermediate–advanced riders comfortable self-launching on an exposed beach and handling chop and current. Butter-flat freestyle water is not here. For flat water, head ~15 km SE to Parajuru, the area's developed kite hub: a tidal lagoon gives ~3 km of flat, shallow water rideable roughly 2 h either side of high tide (~4 h/day), plus schools, rental and lodging. Launch & access: sandy self-launch from the village beach; access roads are partly unpaved and remote. Essentially NO on-beach kite school, rescue, or downwind support at Canto Verde itself — be self-sufficient or base in Parajuru/Fortim. Hazards: active jangada fishing, nets and moorings in the water; strong longshore current; shifting sandbars; remote with no rescue. Respect RESEX regulations and the fishing community. Best for kiters wanting calm and authenticity who will use Parajuru's lagoon for flat-water sessions.
